Marines practice their mission-oriented protective posture suit training during the 3rd Maintenance Battalion Field Exercise 13-2 in the Central Training Area of Okinawa, Japan September 11, 2013. They took a lunch break in their MOPP suits while reading books from the Commandant’s professional reading list and embodying the whole Marine concept. Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear training is often overlooked when units go to the field; however, 3rd Maintenance Battalion’s training ensures the Marines are prepared to perform all daily maintenance operations while at various MOPP levels. The Marines are with 3rd Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
