September 12, 2013, GySgt Nicholas Singh, the Vehicle Recovery Section SNCOIC, supervises recovery training during the 3rd Maintenance Battalion Field Exercise 13-2 in the Central Training Area on Okinawa, Japan. During the training, Marines used the AMK36 medium tactical vehicle replacement wrecker to pull an up-armored high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle, which was mired in a ditch. The exercise provided realistic training for the Marines, as they might face these types of situations during real-world operations. Ensuring the proficiency of recovery operators ensures the Marines can operate independently within the Asia-Pacific region. Third Maintenance Battalion is part of Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
