Cpl. Ryan D. Jones guides a front-end loader as it destroys a simulated forward operating base during a three-day predeployment field training exercise May 17 at the Central Training Area near Camp Hansen. This training allows Marines to use hands-on techniques previously learned in a classroom setting to ensure they understand how to demilitarize forward operating bases. Jones is a heavy-equipment operator with Company F, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
