Sergeant Major Adrian J. Lopez

Adrian J. Lopez enlisted on 4 January 1999 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California.  After completing Personnel Administrative School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina, Sergeant Major Lopez was assigned to 1st BN 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in July 1999. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in March 2000. While assigned to H&S Company, Lance Corporal Lopez deployed with Battalion Landing Team 1/8 in support of 22 MEU.

December 2001, Sergeant Major Lopez was promoted to the rank of Corporal and transferred to HQBN 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While assigned to HQBN, Corporal Lopez assisted in standing up the Division Personnel Administrative Center (DPAC).

January 2003, Sergeant Major Lopez was reassigned to 3rd BN 2nd Marines where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with Regimental Combat Team 2 (OIF-1).  Upon returning from deployment in June 2003, Corporal Lopez was transferred to HQBN 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 

August 2003, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to 1st BN 23rd Marines I-I Weapons Company, Austin, Texas.  In October 2003 Corporal Lopez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. 

August 2006, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to II MHG Group Personnel Administrative Center (GPAC), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty as an Administrative Chief.  In April 2007 Sergeant Lopez was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. 

Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to Recruiter School San Diego, California in February 2009.  In April 2009, Staff Sergeant Lopez was transferred to Recruiting Station Albuquerque, New Mexico, Recruiting Sub-Station Lubbock, Texas as a Recruiter.  In October 2010, Staff Sergeant Lopez was transferred to Recruiting Sub-Station El Paso East, Texas as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC).  In February 2011, Staff Sergeant Lopez was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

May 2012, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to Marine Attack Fighter Squadron 323 MCAS Miramar, CA as the Administrative Chief.  In May 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez deployed with Carrier Air Wing Group 11 (CAG 11) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  In January 2015, he deployed again on the Unit Deployment Program (UDP).  While assigned to VMFA 323, GySgt Lopez served as the Squadron Sergeant Major from June to October 2014.

August 2015, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence School Training Command (NMITC) Virginia Beach, Virginia as the Administrative Chief and Legal Officer.  While assigned to NMITC, SgtMaj Lopez attended both the Legal Officer and Senior Enlisted Legal Courses and was selected for promotion to the rank of First Sergeant. 

March 2017, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to 1st BN 10th Marine Regiment Camp Lejeune, NC and serving as the First Sergeant for both Alpha and Bravo Battery. In February 2019, Sergeant Major Lopez was transferred to Combat Logistics Regiment 27 as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant. 

February 2021, he was promoted to his current rank of Sergeant Major and transferred to Recruiting Station (RS) Baltimore and served as the RS Sergeant Major until his transfer to 3D Sustainment Group, Okinawa, Japan in April 2024.

Personal Military awards include Meritorious Service Medal with a gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership Management.
