Sergeant Major, 3rd Landing Support Battalion
Sergeant Major Christopher T. Stoudemayer

Sergeant Major Stoudemayer is a native of Aiken, South Carolina. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2001 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of recruit training, he attended the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina where he received the Military Occupational Specialty of 0311, Rifleman.

Upon graduation, he was ordered to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines at Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. During his tour, he rose to the rank of Corporal while serving as a Rifleman, Team Leader, and Squad Leader for Company F. He deployed twice as part of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) to Okinawa, Japan, where he conducted bilateral training while attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).

In April 2004, Corporal Stoudemayer received orders to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as a Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant for Company E. In February 2005 he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 2/8 aboard the 26th MEU as a Squad Leader. During this time, he conducted bilateral training exercises in Korea and Israel. In July 2006 he deployed to Iraq as a Squad Leader in support of OIF, where he was promoted to Sergeant. His actions during this deployment earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device.

In July of 2007, Sergeant Stoudemayer volunteered for Special Duty Assignment, School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, North Carolina where he served as a Combat Instructor and Master Tactics Platform Instructor for Marine Combat Training Battalion. Upon completion of his successful tour, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

In September of 2010, Sergeant Stoudemayer received orders to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as a Platoon Sergeant for Company L. In December 2010 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In March 2011, Staff Sergeant Stoudemayer deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF. His actions during this deployment earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device.

In March 2013, Staff Sergeant Stoudemayer deployed on the 26th MEU as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Sergeant. In February 2015, Staff Sergeant Stoudemayer deployed as part of the UDP to Okinawa, Japan, as the Combined Anti-Armor Team Platoon Sergeant.

In October 2015 he received orders to Company G, 2d Battalion, 24th Marines at Inspector-Instructor (I-I) Duty Madison, Wisconsin, where he served as the Operations Chief. In August 2016 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In September 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Stoudemayer was selected to serve as the First Sergeant.

In May 2018 he received orders to Marine Corps Activity Guam, where he served as the Operations Chief. His responsibilities included tactical and operational recommendations and providing input as the infantry community's subject matter expert during the planning and construction of MCB Camp Blaz.

In June 2019 he received orders to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company L. In November 2019 he deployed the company as a part of SPMAGTF-CBP alongside US Border Patrol agents supporting the mobile surveillance camera mission along the US-Mexico border.

In March 2020 he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and served in that capacity for 9th Communication Battalion and Marine Air Control Squadron 4.

In January 2024 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and was appointed as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for 3d Landing Support Battalion.

Sergeant Major Stoudemayer's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with Combat Distinguishing Device and Gold Star in lieu of fourth award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with Combat Distinguishing Device and Gold Star in lieu of fourth award), Combat Action Ribbon (with Gold Star in lieu of second award), and various other Service and Campaign medals.
