Gunnery Sergeant Joshua Garciasoto

Staff Sergeant Garciasoto was born on April 13, 1993, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He graduated high school in May 2011 from Liberty High School in Kissimmee, Florida. SSgt Garciasoto reported to Marine Corps Recruit Training, Parris Island, SC on Oct 2014. Following Marine Combat Training, Staff Sergeant Garciasoto reported to Ground Supply School, Camp Johnson, Jacksonville, NC. In June 2015, Staff Sergeant Garciasoto graduated and was promoted to Private First Class before departing Camp Johnson.
On June 2015 SSgt Garciasoto was then assigned to 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, he served as an Inventory Management Specialist and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in 2015. Immediately after, he took the billet of a Warehouse Chief. Staff Sergeant Garciasoto was Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2016. Following his promotion, SSgt Garciasoto was forward deployed to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa. During his deployment he served as a Warehouse Chief supporting Command element, Ground combat element, Aviation combat element and logistical combat elements successfully.
In 2017 SSgt Garciasoto was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and successfully completed the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructors Course, as a Brown Belt Instructor. While he was stationed in Camp Lejeune, in 2019, he volunteered as a Drill Instructor for Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. He graduated as the Gun Ho recipient in his drill instructor class in October of 2019. In 2020 he reported to 1st battalion, Delta Company as a Drill Instructor. Staff Sergeant GarciaSoto performed the duties of Green Belt Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. On October 2022, SSgt Garciasoto was Promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and recipient of (2) Band of Brothers, (2) Honor platoons and a Navy Marine Achievement Medal.
On April 2023, SSgt Garciasoto executed orders to Combat Logistic Company 33, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. During this time, he served as SNCOIC in Initial Provision Issue Supply Management unit. On October 2023, he was hand selected to serve as the Company Gunnery Sergeant.
