Staff Sergeant Shaun R. Finch

Staff Sergeant Finch was born on September 25, 1983 in Charleston, SC. He graduated high school in May 2002 from Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, TN. SSgt Finch reported to Marine Corps Recruit Training, Parris Island, SC on March 14, 2005.
Following Marine Combat Training, Staff Sergeant Finch reported to Bulk Fuel Specialist Course, U.S. Army Quartermaster School, Ft Lee, VA. In September 2005, Staff Sergeant Finch graduated and was promoted to Private First Class before departing Ft Lee.

In September, 2005 SSgt Finch was then assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, CA before the official name change to 1st Marine Logistics Group. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA SSgt Finch volunteered to deploy as Security with Combat Logistics Battalion-5 to Camp Fallujah, Iraq. SSgt Finch was promoted to Lance Corporal in 2006. While in Fallujah, SSgt Finch served as Lead Machine Gunner. SSgt Finch was promoted to Corporal in 2007. In 2008 SSgt Finch deployed again as Security with 7th Engineer Support Battalion to Camp Al Taqaddum, Iraq. While in Al Taqaddum SSgt Finch served as Assistant Squad Leader, and Vehicle Commander.

In 2009 SSgt Finch deployed as Bulk Fuel with 7th Engineer Support Battalion to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. In 2010 SSgt Finch was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. SSgt Finch served as an augment with 3/6 conducting interior guard at Belleau Wood CLSA in Marjah. While being deployed to Camp Leatherneck, SSgt Finch served as Squad Leader and was the NCOIC during the creation of the 200,000-gallon fuel farm in FOB Edinburgh. Upon returning from deployment, in August 2010 SSgt Finch successfully graduated Sergeants Course.

In December 2010 SSgt Finch was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 11, Camp Pendleton, CA. He was assigned as the Training Chief in S-3 for the battalion. In November 2011 SSgt Finch was deployed aboard the USS Pearl Harbor and part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group. SSgt Finch served as the Training Chief, Assistant Operations Chief, and Corporals Course Instructor.

In March of 2013 SSgt Finch was assigned to Bulk Fuel Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC. While at 8th ESB, SSgt Finch held the billets of Squad Leader, Platoon Guide, Company Motorcycle Representative, and Fuels Platoon SNCOIC. In February 2014 SSgt Finch Deployed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force. While in Romania, SSgt Finch served as Platoon Sergeant and Motor Transport Chief and was in charge of daily operations. In October 2015 SSgt Finch was promoted to the rank of SSgt. He served as the SNCOIC during ITX in 2016
attached to 2nd Transportation Support Battalion.

February 2017 SSgt Finch was assigned to Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion Naval Sub Base aboard Kings Bay, GA where he served as Section Leader and Company Gunnery Sergeant.

October 2018 SSgt Finch was assigned to Marine Wing Support Detachment 31 aboard Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC. February 2020 SSgt Finch successfully completed and graduated from Career Course. SSgt Finch worked in S-3 as the Assistant Operations Chief and the Training Chief during his tenure in S-3. Upon returning to the Fuels Platoon, SSgt Finch went to SLTE 2-21 while serving as the Platoon Sergeant and Team Leader. SSgt Finch completed the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education 1 and Forward Arming and Refueling Point Officer in Charge course while training at SLTE 2-21.

April 2022 SSgt Finch was assigned to Combat Logistics Company 33 aboard MCBH, Hawaii. SSgt Finch served as Operations Chief and SNCOIC for Engineer Operations Platoon. Currently serving as the Company Gunnery Sergeant, and Uniformed Readiness Coordinator.
