Brigadier General Adam L. Chalkley

Brigadier General Chalkley was commissioned in 1993 after graduating from Texas A&M University. His command tours include platoon, detachment, and company level commands at 7th Motor Transport Battalion; series and company level command in 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego; and command of Recruiting Station Oklahoma City.  As a Lieutenant Colonel, he commanded Combat Logistics Battalion 4 and led the battalion during combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  As a Colonel, he commanded Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and later the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Africa, where he led a task force to provide regional security and crisis response operations to safeguard U.S. citizens and diplomatic missions in Africa, while progressing US strategic objectives in Europe and Africa.  

During his staff assignments, he served as the Assistant Logistics Officer for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and as Aide de Camp to the 3d Marine Division’s Commanding General.  He has directed U.S. Marine deployment and distribution operations in Iraq, as well as U.S. Marine logistics operations in Afghanistan.  He directed joint logistics operations at U.S. European Command, working closely with allies and partners across Europe to promote regional stability and to set conditions for globally integrated operations. Additionally, he served as Assistant Chief of Staff G-3 (Operations) and Chief of Staff for 2d Marine Logistics Group.

His operational deployments include five patrols with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM – PHILIPPINES, Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and security and crisis response operations in support of NEW NORMAL.

As a General Officer, he served as the Assistant Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics (LP), where he oversaw service-level logistics plans, policies, and strategic mobility for the United States Marine Corps.  He is now serving as the Commanding General, 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan.

Brigadier General Chalkley is a graduate of the US Army Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, the Naval War College, Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, and the Singularity Executive Program.
