Lt. Col. Freddie F. Martinez

Lieutenant Colonel Freddie F. Martinez is a native of Fredericksburg, VA and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1995.  He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant via the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program after graduating from North Carolina State University in May 2004.

After graduating from Ground Supply Officer’s Course in 2006, LtCol Martinez served as the Supply Officer for Combat Assault Battalion, 3d Marine Division.  During this assignment, he deployed with Embedded Training Team 2-6 to Kunar Province, Afghanistan as the Logistics and Weapons Company Advisor to 1st Kandak, 201st Corps of the Afghan National Army. 

In 2009, LtCol Martinez transferred to 2d Recruit Training Battalion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, where he served as a Series Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Company Commander.  After graduating from Expeditionary Warfare School in 2013, he served as the Supply Officer for Marine Air Control Squadron-4. He then deployed to Balkh Province, Afghanistan where he served as the Coalition Support Chief and Military Assistant for the Deputy Commander, Train, Advise, and Assist Command – North.  When he returned from Afghanistan in 2014, he was assigned to Marine Air Control Group -18, where he would serve as the Group Supply Officer, Personnel Support Detachment Commander, and Group Executive Officer.

LtCol Martinez then served as the Deputy Military Assistant to the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps from 2016 to 2018 before being transferred to the Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics, where he served as the LPV-1 Section Head and Lead Concepts Planner for the Futures Branch.  In 2020, LtCol Martinez returned to Okinawa, Japan where he would join the 3d Marine Division G-4 for service as the Material Readiness Branch OIC until June 2022. 

LtCol Martinez’s awards include Bronze Star Medal with “V” device, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with “V” device and one gold star, Combat Action Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal with one bronze star.
