Colonel Douglas R. Burke

Colonel Burke is currently serving as Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 37 and Camp Commander, Camp Kinser.

Colonel Burke was born in San Diego, raised across the US, and educated in Wisconsin. He graduated Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in August of 1990 and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division for duty as a Rifleman. He reached the rank of Sergeant before being commissioned.

Colonel Burke graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and was commissioned via the Officer Candidates Course in August 1997. He is a graduate of the Marine Corps Ground Supply School, Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (2004), Marine Corps Command and Staff College (non-resident)(2008), and the National War College (2018) where he received a Master of Science in National Security Strategy. Additionally, he completed the Advance Logistics Operations Course and the Joint Course for Logistics. Colonel Burke is also a graduate from Boston University with a Master of Science in Business Administration (2007).

Colonel Burke's command assignments include: Supply Platoon Commander, Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Battalion, Eighth Marines, 2nd Marine Division (1998-2002) where he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 2/8 on board the USS Kearsarge as part of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (1998 - 2002); Commanding Officer, Combat Service Support Detachment-33, 3d Force Service Support Group in support of the Korean Incremental Training Program in South Korea (2003); Commanding Officer, Supply Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 15 (FWD), 1st Marine Logistics Group (2008 - 2010) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and Commanding Officer, Ground Supply School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools (2015 - 2017).

Colonel Burke's staff assignments include: Supply Officer, Materiel Operations Center, 3rd Materiel Readiness Battalion, 3rd Force Service Support Group (2002 - 2003); Supply Officer, Headquarters Battalion, Headquarters Marine Corps (2004); Coalition Operations Planner, Multi-National Forces - Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004 - 2005); Director of Logistics, Headquarters Battalion, Headquarters Marine Corps (2005 - 2007); Supply Management Unit Operations Officer, 1st Maintenance Battalion (-)(REIN), 1st Marine Logistics Group in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007 - 2008); Supply Chain Management Advocate, Supply Policy and Capabilities, Installations & Logistics, Headquarters Marine Corps (2010 - 2013); Logistics Operations Branch Chief, J4 (Joint Logistics), European Command (2013 - 2015); Sustainment Officer, G-4 (Logistics) for the First Marine Expeditionary Force. Colonel Burke’s last assignment was as the AC/S G4 (Logistics) for 3d Marine Logistics Group in Okinawa, Japan.
