Command Master Chief Victor H. Alonzo

Master Chief Alonzo was born and raised in the Philippines.  He migrated to the United States in 1994 and enlisted in the United States Navy in January 13, 1997.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois where he earned the graduating class scholastic award, he reported to Naval School of Health of Sciences, San Diego, California and was the Honor Graduate and Distinguish Student Award recipient.  He attended Fleet Marine Service School, Camp Pendleton, California and earned the NEC 8404/L03A.

In November 1997, he reported to his first duty station onboard USS CONSTELLATION (CV-64).  After a successful tour, he reported to Naval Health School of Sciences, Portsmouth, VA for Pharmacy Technician School where he graduated with Honors and Distinction.  On March 2000, HM2 Alonzo reported to Pharmacy Department, Naval Medical Center San Diego, California.  In October 2001, he volunteered to deploy in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom onboard USS PELELIU (LHA 5).  He returned in March 2002 and became the Leading Petty Officer of Inpatient Pharmacy Department, San Diego, California.  In July 2004, HM1 Alonzo reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Miramar, California where he immediately deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).  In September 2006, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer and deployed to in support of OIF for the second time.

In July 2007, Chief Petty Officer Alonzo reported to Naval Hospital Pensacola as the Leading Chief Petty

Officer, Plans, Operations, Medical Intelligence, and later as Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate of

Branch Clinics.  In March 2009, he deployed to JTF Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as the JTF Medical Planning Chief where he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.  He returned in October 2010 and served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate of Clinical Support Services, Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. In August 2011, Senior Petty Officer Alonzo reported to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan where he served as Senior Enlisted Leader, Marine Aircraft Group 36 and Command Senior Enlisted Leader, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing.

In February 2015, he reported to Navy Personnel Command PERS 407 as Hospital Corpsman Detailer where he was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer and completed his remaining tour as PERS 4013 Specialized Placement Lead. In June 2018 he reported to Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and served as the BSO 18 Total Force Senior Enlisted Leader.

In August 2020 he reported to 3d Medical Battalion, Okinawa Japan where he is currently serving as the Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Alonzo is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 160 and graduated as the Honor Graduate and Peter Tomich Distinguished Leadership Award recipient. He earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare, Aviation Warfare, and Fleet Marine Force designations. 

His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (9 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
