U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Peter Thermos, operations officer with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), begins a staff non-commissioned officer (SNCO) and officer-focused professional military education (PME) seminar on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Dec 1, 2020. The purpose of the PME was to hone the decision making skills of SNCOs and officers within 3rd MLG when planning expeditionary operations within notional scenarios. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
