U.S. Marines prepare food inside of an expeditionary field kitchen during the William Pendleton Thompson Hill competition on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 26, 2020. Established in 1985, the annual Marine Corps field mess competition evaluates all aspects of field mess operations to include sanitation, food preparation, storage, financial accounting and equipment and maintenance.
