U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. George Washington chains and binds a Utility Task Vehicle to a 7-ton during exercise Northern Viper on Yausubetsu Training Area, Hokkaido, Japan, Feb. 4, 2020. Personnel currently assigned to the Logistics Combat Element for exercise Northern Viper train in austere environments to prepare units for all weather conditions. Northern Viper is a regularly scheduled training exercise that is designed to enhance the interoperability of the U.S. and Japan Alliance by allowing Marine Air-Ground Task Forces from III Marine Expeditionary Force to maintain their lethality and proficiency in MAGTF Combined Arms Operations in cold weather environments. Washington, a native of McComb, Mississippi, is a motor transport operator with Transportation Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group.
