Japanese translator and administrative specialist, Kensuke Kobayashi, translates for U.S. Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officer 3 Alan Thompson during a community exchange program tour with the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan June 7, 2019. During the tour, hosted by Combat Logistics Regiment 35, service members visited the base dining facility, supply management unit, a maintenance shop, and the Battle of Okinawa historical display, before taking part in a social at the USO. The purpose of the program is to create bonds and increase operational understanding between the JGSDF and the U.S. Marine Corps. Kobayashi, is a native to Fukuoka, Japan.
