The woman, Oda Moe, was found lying on the ground, hyperventilating and struggling to breathe when the Marines came to her assistance. As the other four Marines created a makeshift stretcher to carry her down the last two miles of the descent, Ehms ran ahead to alert medical personnel. Ehms, a 22 year old, Rochester, Michigan native, is a ground radio and miniature repairman with Electronics Maintenance Company, 3d Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3d Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
