Sailors carry in a simulated casualty Feb. 4 on Camp Foster as part of a four-day medical exercise. “You have to push your body past the limits,” said Petty Officer 2nd Class Mason A. Ahmed, a hospital corpsman with 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. “It’s pretty hard but you need to keep your mind in the zone of just realizing that one day this could actually be real, and you need to realize that the patient is the most important thing, not you. So you just need to forget about how tired you are or anything like that and just keep pushing through and getting the job done.”
