Shaw is a member of a group of volunteers who are visiting elementary schools on military installations throughout Okinawa in February, which is National Children's Dental Health Month. Sailors educated students on which foods and drinks to avoid and proper brushing and flossing techniques to maintain good dental hygiene. Shaw is a hospital corpsman with 3rd Dental Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Shobe is a second-grade student at Kinser Elementary School.
