Commanding Officer, 3rd Landing Support Battalion
Lieutenant Colonel Tabatha R. Spriggs

LtCol Spriggs is from Ashburn, Virginia. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2007. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2007. 

After graduating from The Basic School and the Logistics Officer Course in 2008, she was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, where she served as the Logistics Officer, Embarkation Officer, and Headquarters & Service Company Commander. During this tour she participated in two COBRA GOLD exercises as the Air Base Camp Commandant.  

In August 2010, LtCol Spriggs reported for duty to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group. While the Battalion was forward, she served as the Logistics Officer, Adjutant, Intelligence Officer, Communication Officer, Headquarters and Service Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer in support of 900 Marines within the Force Generation Element (FGE). Upon the Battalion’s return she was reassigned as the Company Executive Officer for Engineer Support Company.  

In September 2011, she was promoted to Captain and in February 2012 she was appointed as the Engineer Support Company Commander. She deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM 12.1 providing engineer support to 22 outlying bases. Upon her return to Camp Lejeune, LtCol Spriggs was reassigned as the Assistant Operations Officer. Following Hurricane Sandy, she acted as the Operations Officer in support of the Battalion’s Joint Task Force Pump detachment in their execution of a large-scale dewatering mission in New York City. Additionally, she served as the 2d MLG’s lead engineer planner for several potential Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) missions in New York and New Jersey.  

In 2013, she was reassigned to Logistics Operations School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools to serve as a Formal Learning Instructor and Course Manager for the Logistics Officer Course.  

After graduating from the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School in 2017, LtCol Spriggs reported to 1st Marine Division serving as the division Maintenance Management Officer. In August 2017, she was selected to be the J-4 Current Operations Officer in support of the joint military exercise ULCHI FREEDOM GUARDIAN in South Korea. In September 2017, she was promoted to the rank of Major. In May 2018, she served as the division G-4 Operations Officer. 

LtCol Spriggs transferred to Headquarters Marine Corps in 2020 where she served as the aide-de-camp for the 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps. Following her assignment in July 2021, she attended the Marine Corps Command and Staff College (CSC), earning a Master of Military Studies.  

In July 2022, she reported to Okinawa, Japan and was assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force G-4 as a Logistics Planner for Japan and Pacific Plans. In April of 2023 she was assigned as the Executive Officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3d Marine Logistics Group and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in July of 2023. She assumed command of 3d Landing Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3 in June 2024.

LtCol Spriggs’ academic and professional education includes B.S., English (UA, 2007); Tactical Logistics Operations Course (2010); Intermediate MAGTF Operations Course (2013); Expeditionary Warfare School (2017); Command and Staff College (2022); Master of Military Studies (MCU).   

Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
