Lieutenant Colonel Christopher A. Thrasher

Lieutenant Colonel Thrasher attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in March 2007. After graduating from the Basic School in September 2007 and the Basic Engineer Officers Course in February 2008, he was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division.

Upon reporting to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 2ndLt Thrasher assumed the billet of Heavy Equipment Platoon Commander, Engineer Support Company. In April of 2009, 2ndLt Thrasher deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM 9.1 as executive officer for Engineer Support Company in Support of Regimental Combat Team 3.

In February 2010, 1stLt Thrasher was assigned as Platoon Commander, Company C. In September of 2010, 1stLt Thrasher's Engineer Platoon deployed in direct support of 3d Battalion, 5th Marines during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM 10.2 in Sangin, Afghanistan.

Upon graduating from Expeditionary Warfare School, in May of 2012, Capt Thrasher was assigned as Inspector-Instructor in South Bend, IN, for Engineer Company B, 6th Engineer Support Battalion. During this period, he supervised the company's realignment to Engineer Service Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 25.

In August 2015, Capt Thrasher assumed command of Engineer Company, Marine Wing Support Squadron 373. While serving as Company Commander, his company deployed in support of SPMAGTF-CR-CC 16.2. In May 2017, Major Thrasher was assigned as the Operations Officer for Marine Wing Support Squadron 373. As operations officer, he trained and deployed the Squadron to support SPMAGTF-CR-CC 18.1. While deployed, he managed aviation ground support operations across five countries supporting OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.

In July 2018, Major Thrasher was assigned to Marine Forces Europe and Africa as the lead logistics planner for the major contingency plans in Europe and Africa. In June 2019, he assumed responsibilities as the command's Force Engineer.

In July 2022, Major Thrasher graduated from the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Following graduation, he transitioned to his latest assignment as Team Officer in Charge and Advisor for the Presidential Guard Al Forsan Brigade, United Arab Emirates.

Lieutenant Colonel Thrasher assumed command of 9th Engineer Support Battalion in June 2023.
