Captain John F. Hunt

Captain Hunt comes from Trevose, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, Pa and LaSalle University in Newtown, Pa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Captain Hunt’s military career began with enlisting in the Marine Corps Reserve in 2010.  Upon graduation from Parris Island, MCT, and CBRN School, he checked into Marine Wing Support Squadron 472, Detachment Alpha, located at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  He served as a CBRN Team Member and S-3 Clerk from 2011 to 2016.

In 2016, Captain Hunt commissioned through Officer Candidate Course 221.  After completing The Basic School and Logistics Officer Course, he reported to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st MarDiv, I MEF in 2017.  During his time with 3d AABn, Captain Hunt served as the Maintenance Management Officer, Motor Transport Officer, and Assistant Battalion Logistics Officer.

In 2019, Captain Hunt checked in to 3d Recruit Training Battalion, RTR, MCRD San Diego.  During this tour of duty, he was assigned as a Series Commander with Lima and Kilo Company, Executive Officer for Kilo Company, and Company Commander of India Company.  In total of nine training cycles, Captain Hunt helped shape the careers of 1,950 new Marines.

As of August 2022, Captain Hunt assumed command of Combat Logistics Company 36, a detached company within Combat Logistic Regiment 37, 3d MLG, responsible for general support logistics of III MEF units aboard MCAS Iwakuni.

Captain Hunt’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
