Thiele Fred Harvey, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Battles of Iwo Jima, Vella Lavella, and the Bougainville and Soloman Island Campaigns walks the beaches of Iwo To, Japan March 23, 2019. The 74th Reunion of Honor ceremony remembers veterans who fought for their respective countries on Iwo To’s hallowed ground. Their sacrifice inspired peace, security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Harvey is a native of Memphis, Texas.
