Marines with 3rd Air Delivery Platoon, Landing Support Company, 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, conduct a cargo drop from a KC-130 May 22, 2018, on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan. The Marines conducted air drop operations dropping a type-five platform, door bundles, free fall and static line jumpers, and the Polaris MRZR4-900 onto the island. 3rd MLG Marines worked alongside Marines with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, during the regularly scheduled training evolution to complete their first successful drop of a Polaris MRZR. Brig. Gen. Daniel B. Conley, commanding general of 3rd Marine Logistics Group, awards Lt. Nicholas Crossland, a dental officer with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, with the Lt. J.G. Weedon E. Osbourne Memorial Award May 5, 2018 on Camp Foster. Crossland was awarded this for his work while attached to the 31st MEU. The Osborne award is given to dental officers who exhibit superior leadership while serving with the field medical service.
