Antonio Lopez

 

Sergeant Major Antonio G. Lopez enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 1997 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Upon completion of Recruit Training he attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton, CA. Private First Class Lopez then attended Basic Military Police School in Fort McClellan, AL and obtained the MOS 5811 Military police and received follow-on orders to the Provost Marshal's Office, Camp Pendleton, CA. In July 2000, Lance Corporal Lopez transferred to the Provost Marshal's Office, Camp Smedley D. Butler where he served as Desk Sergeant, Patrol Supervisor, and was hand selected to the Accident Investigation Unit. In July 2001, Corporal Lopez attended Basic Recruiter School in San Diego, Ca. He was subsequently assigned to Recruiting Station New York where he spent the next three years serving as a Canvassing Recruiter and Assistant Non-commissioned Officer in Charge in Brooklyn and East Bronx, NY. In September 2004, Sergeant Lopez received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA where he filled the billet of Watch Commander and Training Chief. In September 2005, he attended the Traffic Management and Collision Investigation Course and upon completion was reassigned within the Provost Marshal's Office as Accident Investigation Chief. In October 2006, Staff Sergeant Lopez was assigned the duties as Provost Marshal's Office Operations Chief. In September 2008, Staff Sergeant Lopez received orders to Military Police Support Company, Marine Headquarters Group, Camp Pendleton, CA as Accident Investigations Chief. In December 2008, Staff Sergeant Lopez deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as Platoon Sergeant for the Police Mentoring Team, Fallujah, Iraq. Upon his return, Staff Sergeant Lopez was assigned to Military Police Support Company and served as Training Chief and Assistant Operations Chief. In February 2010, Staff Sergeant Lopez deployed in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines where he served as Platoon Sergeant on the Police Mentoring Team. In October 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez returned to Military Police Support Company and held the billet of Company First Sergeant. In November 2011, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez reported to Marine Corps Detachment, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. During his tenure he served as Traffic Management and Collision Investigation Instructor and Course Chief. In December 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Lopez received orders to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Okinawa, Japan where he served as Law Enforcement Integrations and Force Protection Chief. Gunnery Sergeant Lopez was directly responsible for the integration of Military Police Law Enforcement Detachments in six Marine Aircraft Wing exercises and deployments within the Pacific Area of Operation. In May 2015, he deployed with Joint Task Force 505 in support of a Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief operation in response to an earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal where he served as Camp Commandant and Force Protection Officer. In December 2015, he was selected to the rank of First Sergeant. In January 2016, First Sergeant Lopez received orders to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Okinawa, Japan where he served as Detachment Alpha First Sergeant. In November 2017, First Sergeant Lopez received orders to Marine Barracks Washington, DC (8th and I), where he served as Company A First Sergeant. In February 2019, First Sergeant Lopez was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company and was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major in November 2019. In September 2020, Sergeant Major Lopez reported for duty to Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, Marine Corps Base Hawaii where he is currently serving as the Battalion Sergeant Major. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal. He has an Associates of Science Degree in General Science from Park University, and is currently enrolled in at Park University in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. 

He is married to Samantha Lopez of Imperial, California and has two sons, Sebastian and Aidan.
